Mithril Games is Closing
News
A special thank you to everyone who has decided to order from us and take a chance with a new online store.
When I started Mithril Games I was working from home and had the time to devote to running an online game store. The hope of hopes was to open the online component a year ahead of a brick and mortar store. That way we could have a source of revenue on day one.
Six monthes into Mithril Games life I found myself unemployed and had to get a regular day job. Now my time was split between work,my personal life and Mithril. Needless to say everything suffered. I started Mithril because I loved gaming. Gaming has been my life for twenty some years since my first game of D&D with my cousin. Now it was work, something I didn't look forward to after a long stressful day at the office.
The start of 2008 saw a sharp downturn in sales. I can point to the economy and high gas prices cutting into everyone's free money (I know I've decided to get a bus pass instead of commuting). But also I haven't been agressive with advertising, pricing, and availability to stay competative.
While I have been trying to hold off on the decision to close the store, the final straw was the recent stock outtage of War at Sea. For a company that relies on selling singles for income, not having any of our best seller is devastating. My apologies to everyone who put in an order that had to be canceled when my supplier let me know WAS was again sold out.
There are a few items still available for sale at a deep discount. I will keep these items up for a little while. I will be batching orders into a weekly shipment.
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.
Happy Gaming, Tom
